Wereldmediahuis vzw, Vlasfabriekstraat 11, 1060 Brussels takes the measures mentioned in this privacy and cookie policy to protect your privacy. We find the protection of the privacy of our customers, subscribers, readers, surfers and users important. With this privacy and cookie policy, we want to inform you as best we can about what data we collect, why we do so, and how you can control it.

Wereldmediahuis vzw collects, registers and processes personal data of its customers, subscribers, readers, surfers and of the users of its services and applications, being our magazine, our news website, our community project and our events.

Certain personal data must be communicated explicitly, such as for taking out a subscription, becoming a member of the community, purchasing products, using certain parts of a website, registering for an event, participating in a competition or promotion or creating a user account or registration. This data is deemed to have been provided to us voluntarily by you.

Depending on the service used, this may include the following categories of personal data:

  • Postal address, postal code, town/city, email address, telephone number, mobile number
  • Bank account number
  • Professional data (profession, position, …) or data relating to study or training if these are important in view of the nature of the publication or service

The personal data which are explicitly or automatically communicated or collected, are recorded and processed in the database of Wereldmediahuis vzw, Vlasfabriekstraat 11, 1060 Brussels.

Wereldmediahuis vzw is the controller of the processing of these personal data and monitors the processing performed by other parties at its request.

Wereldmediahuis vzw will not keep your data longer than permitted by law and than necessary for the purposes mentioned in this document.

  • Contacting you for marketing purposes and informing you about (new) products, services, competitions, promotions and offers from us.

5.3. Personalisation and targeting

  • To tailor our website(s), newsletters, digital applications and in particular advertisements to your preferences or profile.
  • To send you targeted offers and promotions, matching your preferences or profile, or to avoid sending you the same message several times through different channels.

5.4. To fight fraud and/or abuse of our digital platforms and applications

Wereldmediahuis vzw is committed to protect the privacy of minors and encourages parents to be actively involved in the online activities of their children.

Wereldmediahuis vzw will not knowingly or intentionally collect personal data from minors.

Wereldmediahuis vzw encourages minors, if they visit a website of Wereldmediahuis vzw, to inform their parents about their online activities and to ask their opinion before sending any personal data to Wereldmediahuis vzw.

Wereldmediahuis vzw encourages minors, if they wish to create an account, to carefully read the privacy policy of Wereldmediahuis vzw together with their parents.

In case of high risk, we inform the data subjects without delay. (if feasible and reasonable)

We do not sell or transfer personal data to third parties or commercial partners unless:

  • the transfer of your data is necessary for the provision of our services: for some aspects of our products and services we cooperate with third parties or use subcontractors. The transfer of your data is only done for the same purposes as Wereldmediahuis vzw itself. We ensure that these third parties, just like us, manage your data safely, respectfully and with due care.

9. Right of inspection and correction

You can access and amend the following data yourself via our websites:

  • your subscription and subscription data via our subscription service at Roularta Media Group NV: mijn.abonnementen.be,
  • your registered personal data: through your registration / account on the websites and digital applications of Wereldmediahuis vzw.
